Mixed Green Tuna Salad

Ingredient List
1 can of Bumble Bee Wild Caught Tuna
1 large Celery Stick
¼ White or Yellow Onion chopped
1 scoop of Mayonnaise
1 scoop of Dijon Mustard
Salt and Pepper
Dried Dill
Balsamic Vinaigrette
Mixed Greens

Tuna Salad 3I love tuna.  It is one of my favorite fish. I love eating it in all its forms whether it be in sushi, pastas, sashimi, seaweed wraps, seared, tartar, sandwiches, and salads. My pantry always has at least 2 cans of tuna because it’s simple to put together for a delicious meal. I also like purchasing frozen tuna so I can sear it and eat it over rice.  One day I would love to be able to afford fresh tuna and prepare it for sushi, tartar, and sashimi.

My tuna salad is a simple and delicious meal using canned tuna. It can be eaten for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.  It’s rather simple and I add a few more ingredients to the mayonnaise that elevates the flavor and really satisfies the palette.  I hope you like this, too.

Chop CELERY and ONIONS as finely as you like and leave aside: Tuna Salad

  • Open a can of tuna and drain all the liquids and put the tuna into a mixing bowl
  • Using a fork, or your hands, break apart the tuna until it is light and fluffy
    • I like to use my hands and I think the tuna has a better mouth-feel when really broken apart
  • Add a large spoonful of MAYONNAISE and DIJON MUSTARD and a sprinkle of DRIED DILL
  • Add in the chopped celery and onions
  • Drizzle BALSAMIC VINAIGRETTE
  • Then mix all the ingredients together either with your hands or spoon
    • I like to use my hands to make sure all the ingredients are well blended

In another mixing bowl add a handful, or two, of MIXED GREENS:

  • Add the tuna on top and enjoy as is or mix again to ensure the mixed greens are well covered
  • Gently place into a serving bowl or plate

Optional:  Sprinkle roasted sunflower seeds for added crunch and a subtle crunch
