Sauteed Mushrooms with Butter and Thyme

Ingredient List
6-8 Mushrooms
2 tablespoons Unsalted Butter
Salt and Pepper
1 teaspoon of Dried or Fresh Thyme

Sauteed mushrooms are easy to make and flavorful.  This meaty vegetable is a great compliment for all sorts of meals, such as Slow Cooked Flank Steak with Brussels Sprouts and Almond Spread.

Add 2 tablespoons of UNSALTED BUTTER onto a hot saute pan and let melt

  • Then lower the heat to medium-high and add in the PORTOBELLO MUSHROOMS
    • The mushrooms can be left whole, cut in half, or quartered
  • Mix the mushrooms around in the melted butter getting them all coated evenly
  • Sprinkle THYME over the mushrooms
  • Lower the heat to medium-low and leave the mushrooms to cook for 5-10 minutes
    • During this time the mushrooms will plumb up and soak in all the butter and thyme
    • If the mushrooms look like they need more butter add a little bit of water, instead, to the hot pan and let the steam help the cooking process
  • Season with SALT and PEPPER
