Sesame Brown Rice with Chives and Scallions

A friend once asked me, “What do you eat for breakfast?” Well, I eat pretty much anything I feel like. One of those things is sesame brown rice with chives and scallions. Good fiber and flavor. What I really like is I don’t have to think too hard about getting minerals, vitamins, and reaping the benefits of things that use to photosynthesize.

My son, Rayden, loves this, too. This is seasoned with soy sauce. You can also use tamari sauce or Bragg’s liquid aminos. They ALL taste the same to me, but tamari sauce is a gluten-free version of soy sauce and liquid aminos is made by the Bragg’s company and has its own list of health benefits (https://bragg.com/products/bragg-liquid-aminos-soy-alternative.html).


Ingredient List
Brown Rice
A handful of Chives chopped
1-2 Nori Sheets
1 Raw Egg
A handful of Roasted Sesame Seeds
A handful of Scallions chopped
Soy Sauce

Cook BROWN RICE according to the instructions on the packaging

  • Once the rice is cooked put as much of it as you want into a bowl
  • Add a teaspoon of SOY SAUCE and mix with the rice
    • Then taste test to see how strong the soy sauce flavor is
    • After, add as much as you want without the rice becoming too salty
  • Sprinkle CHIVES, SCALLIONS, and ROASTED SESAME SEEDS over the rice
  • Optional:  Crack a RAW EGG* on top
    • If you are not interested in eating a raw egg then frying or scrambling works well, too
  • Add NORI by cutting it into strips, squares, or crumbing into flakes
    • Either layer on top or leave on the side
